Built for the days you'd rather not talk about.

MioSync exists because wellness apps usually feel like productivity tools wearing a soft sweater. Our differentiator is not tracking — it is tone and safety: a companion that remembers, a tracker that doesn't shame, and a rules-based safety layer that would rather say “unverified” than guess.

Our mission

To be the most trustworthy daily health companion on Android — combining fast nutrition logging, a deterministic food-safety engine and routine tracking behind one buddy that speaks your language, respects your autonomy, and never guesses about your safety.

MioSync was founded and architected by Jay Chandra as an independent, privacy-first, offline-ready health companion. As CEO and lead developer, he owns the product vision, the deterministic food-safety engine, and the offline-first architecture behind every MioSync release — built solo, with no outside funding, and no data sold to anyone.

Technology & architecture

MioSync is a cloud-connected, AI-native Android app built on an offline-first core.

Multimodal AI

Vision models read nutrition labels, prescriptions, lab reports and diet charts in memory — images are never stored.

Conversational companion

Mio, the AI buddy, runs on large language models with long-term memory, personality modes and Hinglish/Tenglish mirroring.

Voice input

Tap-to-talk speech-to-text turns spoken meal descriptions into structured logs.

Deterministic safety engine

A rules-based verdict engine (AVOID, CAUTION, OK, UNVERIFIED) decides food safety — AI never does.

Offline-first sync

Local cache with an outbox queue that syncs automatically to the cloud when you reconnect.

Secure cloud backend

Managed database, auth and server functions with row-level security scoping every record to its owner.

Principles we won't trade away

Empathy over metrics

The app speaks like a caring friend, never like a dashboard. Every number you log comes back as a human sentence, in the personality you chose.

Deterministic safety

Food verdicts come from rules written in code, matched against your allergies, conditions and diet. AI reads label text; it never decides whether something is safe.

Honest uncertainty

Four states — AVOID, CAUTION, OK and UNVERIFIED. When we cannot confirm an ingredient list, we say UNVERIFIED instead of guessing.

Frictionless logging

Search, barcode, label photo or plain description — one tap, offline-capable, with AI only where it genuinely saves you time.

Forgiveness

Momentum windows replace punitive streaks. One missed day never wipes your progress.

Privacy by default

Scan images are discarded after transcription, every record is scoped to you by row-level security, and consent is explicit.

Autonomy

You own the conversation, the memory, the data and the off switch — including a full cascade account delete.

Who MioSync is for

  • The overwhelmed professional — log food and water in seconds and still know where the day stands.
  • The allergy household — scan a packet and see instantly whether it is safe for anyone at the table.
  • The chronic-condition user — eat safely with a condition and share clean reports with a doctor.
  • The body-composition seeker — hit macro targets computed from your own body stats and goal.

How it's built

React, TypeScript and Tailwind wrapped with Capacitor for Android, a local cache and outbox for offline-first writes, a Postgres backend with row-level security on every user table, and purpose-specific AI calls with timeouts and token budgets — kept strictly out of the safety decision path.

MioSync is a wellness companion, not a medical device. It does not diagnose, and AI nutrition figures are labelled as estimates.
